LG has released two high-end models this year; LG G4 and LG V10. Both the models were launched with Snapdragon 808 chipset, but LG upgraded many things in LG V10. Well, LG G5 was expected to arrive in May 2016, but the recent leak suggests otherwise. According to the recent leak coming for a Weibo user (Zealer), LG G5 may be launched in February 2016.
LG G5 has been rumored to feature a Finger Print Scanner as well as Iris Retina Scanner. Iris Scanner would be a new feature if they really make it happen, but we still don’t know what it will really do. Unlocking a phone/apps or just a sensor to control a couple of things like many Samsung phones? Finger Print Scanner would locate on the back, just like LG V10, and Iris Retina Scanner can be located around front camera.
As far as rest of the specs are concerned, LG G5 is expected to feature a 5.6 inches 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) display, Snapdragon 820 CPU, Adreno 530 GPU, 21-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front camera. LG G4 features a 5.5 inches and LG V10 has 5.7 inches display. LG V10 with 5.6-inch, what do you think?
Samsung has also been rumored to launch Galaxy S7 with Snapdragon 820 in February 2016. If LG G5 and Galaxy S7 both are launched at the same time with the same chipset, there will be great competition, and LG may attract more users if they really bring Iris Retina Scanner with LG G5.
