While 4G Network is not available everywhere, 5G is already on its way. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) just disclosed more information about 5G Network. ITU told that 5G Network has been targeted to make available for users by 2020, and it would have the capability to transmit data at up to 20 Gbps. This kind of speed can allow you to download a UHD Resolution movie in 10 seconds only.
ITU has decided to name 5G network as IMT-2020, like the way they named IMT-Advanced for 4G and IMT-2000 for 3G. However, the official name will be decided later in October in ITU’s Radios Assembly in Geneva. 5G will be tested and demonstrated first in 2018 at PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games. 5G Network will have the capability to provide more than 100 Mbps average speed to over a million users within a square kilometer.
Before ITU, we have already heard about 5G research project that has been taken by NTT Docomo in partnership with Nokia. NTT Docomo had informed that 5G would be capable of providing the data transmission speed up to 10 Gbps that has been just doubled according to ITU.
Well, there are still areas where users don’t even get 3G network, not to speak of 4G. As far as speed is concerned, we can’t take ITU for sure. The speed depends of many factors, and getting the maximum speed is always a dream for users. 4G network can provide the maximum speed up to 150 Mbps, but no one gets that speed. In the same way, 5G network speed will also vary, but it would certainly be better than 4G-LTE.
