If we talk about worldwide Mobile OS market share, Android takes the credit to hold most of the share. However, it is not applicable for all the market. The UK market has been a great opportunity for Apple. From 2011 to 2014, iOS was the top Mobile OS in the UK. Android took over iOS in 2015, and since then iOS couldn’t beat Android with regard to the number of users. However, iOS has managed to regain its position, according to last month data. Now iOS holds 48.07% mobile OS market share in the UK against 44.43% share held by Android OS.

The data was quite different in September 2016

  2. iOS : 40.95%
  3. Blackberry : 3.18%

Apple managed to boost their sales by more than 7%, thanks to Samsung’s Note 7 recall. Samsung’s high-end devices are the true competitor of iPhones. However, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 turned out to be big mistake Samsung has ever made. So iPhone 7 models got a great advantage of this as many people exchanged or switched to iPhones. Along with Note 7 failure, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus also got the credit to feature the best CPU/Chip you can find in any Smartphones. Apple A10 chip also attracted many smartphone users to new iPhones.

iOS operating system is exclusively made for Apple Mobile Devices. So you won’t find it in any other smartphones or tablets, except iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch Models. However, Android OS is used by many Smartphone manufacturers in their mobile devices, e.g. Google, Samsung, Sony, LG, Xiaomi, Lenovo/Moto, LeTV, Meizu, Huawei, HTC, etc..
