Users of Sony Xperia C, Xperia L, Xperia SP, Xperia M and Xperia M Dual have been waiting for Android 4.4 (Kitkat) update for a long time, but Sony didn’t fail to disappoint all of them. All of these models can not be updated to Android 4.4 Kitkat.
Sony Xperia SP
Sony Xperia SP was launched with Android 4.1 in April 2013, and was upgraded to Android 4.3 in February 2014, and Sony was investigating whether Sony Xperia SP could be upgraded to Android 4.4 or not, and finally has updated their website that Android 4.3 is the final version for Sony Xperia SP.
Sony Xperia C
The users of Sony Xperia C must be thinking that why they bought this device. Sony Xperia C is a device that neither received any Android OS update, nor will it. It was launched with Android 4.2 OS in July 2013, and this remained the final version. Do not expect any Android OS update. Next time try Motorola, Moto E turned out even better. lol! 😀
Sony Xperia M
Users of Sony Xperia M is as unlucky as Sony Xperia SP users, they both stand at the same place in terms of Android OS update. Sony Xperia M was launched with Android 4.1 in August 2013, and was upgraded to Android 4.3 in March 2014, and Sony Xperia M has Android 4.3 as its OS final version. Stop waiting for any more OS update. This is applicable for Sony Xperia M dual handset as well.
Sony Xperia L
The final version of Android OS for Sony Xperia L is “Android 4.2.” Xperia L was distributed with Android 4.1 in May 2013, and received Android 4.2 update in October 2013, but this is it. No more OS updates will be released.
Now the owners of those devices must be thinking why they didn’t receive update, and why Sony is unable to release updates? Well, that’s a fair question that has no explanation on the website. In terms of Android updates Motorola has proved to be the best brand. Motorola mobiles get update sooner than other mobiles, Moto E received Android Kitkat updates even that’s a low range mobile, and Moto G didn’t receive just Android 4.4 Kitkat update, but Moto G will also receive Android L update (the future Android OS version).
