HTC announced that this Android 5.0 Lollipop would reach HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 within 90 days after it debut. But what is the current status? What devices have been updated or will be updated soon? Are there many devices of HTC that are still in the process of receiving update? Below, we summarize and and provide detail of the devices that HTC plans updating to Android Lollipop.
For now, the only device that has been updated is the HTC One M8 in their contract free version as Google Play Edition. Both the HTC One M8 as the HTC One M7 would be the the only devices that fall within the plans in the company’s first quarter, which ends in March. This means that if you have not received the update so far, it should reach your HTC One (whether the M7 or M8) in the coming days or weeks. If you have not received any notification to update via FOTA (Firmware Over The Air) or without wires, you can also check the availability of the update manually going to setting section of your device and check for update. If your HTC One is linked to a national operator, you may still have to wait for some days or weeks.
And what about the rest of the mobile of HTC that are part of the update? Remember one thing, that some of these device may not be available in your country. Anyway, we should tell you that the HTC One E8, HTC Desire EYE, HTC One M8 EYE, HTC Butterfly 2 will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop during the second quarter of this year 2015 . In the third quarter, it is expected that Android Lollipop will already be available for most of the devices that should receive teh update. This includes the HTC One Max, M7 Dual SIM HTC One, HTC Desire 816, HTC Desire 820u and HTC One M8 Mini. Finally, it is expected that at some time during the year (although surely by the end of 2015 ) Lollipop will be made available to the HTC Desire 610, HTC Desire 820s, HTC Desire 510 and HTC One Mini.
