A new CoolPad mid-range smartphone has been certified by Tenaa on April 6. It could be the choice for those looking for a mid-range device with large screen. On Tenaa, it appeared as Coolpad Y803-9, but the real model name or number could be different.
Coolpad Y803-9 weighs 113 grams only with 153 × 76.8 × 7.8 mm dimension and metal body. It will be available in Gold, White and may be some other colors.
The device features a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, 3GB RAM, 16GB ROM (Supports MicroSD up to 32GB), and it runs Android Lollipop 5.1 OS. As far as camera combination is concerned, its primary and secondary both cameras are 8-megapixel, just like Philips S653H. They have used 2500 mAh battery for this model that is not removable.
In terms of power, it features a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor, but we don’t know the exact CPU name. Guessing by the GHz and cores, it could be Mediatek MT6735 combined with ARM Mali-T720 GPU. If my guess is correct, Coolpad has made a poor choice to use this chip with 3GB RAM. However, price tag will make the real difference.
We don’t have detail on its pricing and release date yet. If you are not in China or some other Asian countries where Coolpad Phones are sold, don’t expect this device to be available in your region.
