Samsung has not used the same sensor for all Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, so you must be thinking which one is the best. Samsung used two sensors: Sony IMX240 and Samsung’s own ISOCELL sensor. Now the question is why Samsung did that and if there is any specific region for specific camera sensor?
Samsung has not explained anything about this except that Samsun chose those sensor after a critical test and then they used it. Both the sensors capture great photos and videos, and users’ experience will not be affected. Here is the official statement given by Samsung.
“The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge utilize camera sensors from several different vendors. Like all of the technology used in our products, they meet our strict global quality and performance standards.”
If you are curious to know the difference of the photoshoot for both the sensor, you can check and decide yourself. SamMobile did a test of Galaxy S6 Camera using both the sensor, and the result doesn’t make much difference. In some photos you may realize that Samsung ISOCELL did better because it shows more light than Sony Sensor.
