Two new Gionee Smartphones have recently cleared the certification process via Chinese Telecom Regulatory Authority. One of them is named as Gionee F106 and the other is Gionee GN5005L. One of them is a low-end model, and the other seem to be a mid-range device. However, both have them come with similar specs that we will talk about.
Gionee F106
Gionee F106 features a 5-inch HD Display (720X1280 pixels), 2GB RAM, 16GB Internal Storage, MicroSD Card Support (up to 128GB), 8-megapixel Rear Camera, 5-megapixel Front Camera, 1.25 GHz Quad-Core Processor, 2660 mAh battery etc.. As far as processor is concerned, we expect it to be Mediatek MT6737M (guessing by its specs). MT6737M is the same Processor that Asus also used in its Zenfone 3 Max ZC520TL model that was released this year in August. The device will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System. The model lacks a Finger Print Scanner and Gionee has wrapped this model in a Plastic body. It features 144×70.8×8.4 mm dimension and weighs 150.2 grams. It should probably be a low-end model that would come in the budget for most of the smartphone users.
Gionee GN5005L
Gionee GN 5005L also features a 5 inches display with 1280X720 pixels resolution, 16GB ROM (expandable with MicroSD, up to 128GB), 8MP Primary Camera, 5MP Secondary Camera, 1.25 GHz Four-Core Processor etc.. However, This model features 3GB RAM compared to 2GB RAM found in Gionee F106, and it also has a Finger Print Scanner located on the front panel that the other model lacks. This model feature Full Metal Body that makes it look little premium as far as design is concerned. One of the major difference between these 2 models is the Battery. Gionee GN5005L comes with 4000 mAh battery compared to 2660 mAh in the other model. Even with a large battery, this model is 10.2 grams lighter compared to F106, but 0.2mm thicker. The exact dimension is 144.3×70.5×8.6 mm and it weighs 140 grams. This model will also run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box. However, both the models would probably not receive any major Android OS Update. So don’t expect Android 7.0 Nougat when you get these models.
