At the very start Meizu Pro 5 was rumored to be called Meizu MX5 Pro, and then it was spotted on Antutu with NIUX model name, rather code name. Later, Meizu posted the packaging images of its upcoming smartphone that cleared the air that Meizu’s next flagship would be called Meizu Pro 5. Thereafter, Meizu Pro 5 benchmark score was revealed via Geekbench 3, and it scored 5593 in multi-core performance, and 1550 in single-core. This much score indicates a mind blowing performance for any smartphone.
Meizu Pro 5 has also been rumored to come in rose gold color. It is the new color of iPhone 6s and 6s plus, that received so many preorders. So Meizu may come up with same color as Meizu Pro 5 may look like iPhone 6 (according to rending images). You can have a look at the rending images of Meizu Pro 5;
Meizu Pro 5 is a premium smartphone that Meizu will launch on Wednesday, 23 September. It is just a day later When Xiaomi Mi 4c will be announced. Along with Meizu Pro 5, Meizu would launch some more gadgets (according to the teaser images posted by Meizu).
Meizu Pro 5 would feature octa-core 64-bit Samsung’s Exynos 7420 SoC, 5.5 inches 1080 pixels display, Finger Print Sensor, 21-megapixel Primary and 5 or 8 MP secondary camera etc.. As far as RAM is concerned, it was spotted on Antutu with 3GB RAM, Geekbench 3 benchmark report shows 4GB RAM, and it appeared on Antutu again with 4GB RAM. So Meizu Pro 5 is likely to come up with 4GB RAM.
Meizu was rumored to feature stock Android Lollipop 5.1 OS, but the rendering image suggest that Meizu is not leaving its Flyme OS. Meizu Pro 5 is expected to run on Flyme 5.0, based on Android Lollipop 5.1. Apart from those rendering images, some real images of Meizu Pro 5 was also leaked. However, those images are not so attractive, and the display/UI looks awful, or may be it’s like that because of the light. You can have a look yourself
Meizu Pro 5 already scored better than Samsung Galaxy Note 5 on Geekbench 3 benchmark even both the devices have the same Chipset. Meizu missed only one thing to compete Galaxy s6 series and Note 5, and that is 2K display. However, it is going to be much cheaper compared to Samsung Smartphones. Meizu Pro 5 is expected to be priced somewhere around 3000 Chinese Yuan ($ 471) compared to $699 for Note 5.
