Rumor about Microsoft’s Surface Phone started in August in this year. It was being said that Microsoft would launch Surface Phone in May or June that will feature Intel Atom X3 CPU or Snapdragon 820, but the latest leak suggests otherwise.
A Weibo user claims that Microsoft would launch Surface Phone in September 2016, and they will use Intel Core M processor. It is 6th Generation Intel Processor built on 14 nm manufacturing process technology, so the performance is fair enough. Apple has used Intel Core M first time in MacBook Retina 12-inch model.
As far as performance is concerned, Intel Core M would perform better than Snapdragon 820. Microsoft could choose to use a dual-core processor or quad-core. In terms of benchmarking, Intel Core M dual-core processor (MacBook 12-inch model) Scores over 2500 in single-core performance and over 5000 in Multi-core performance in GeekBench 3 Benchmark test.
We have already heard of Intel testing its Core M processor in mobile devices, and now Microsoft has been rumored to use this. So there is possibility that this rumor could be true. Along with Intel Core M Processor, Microsoft’s Surface Phone is expected to feature a 5.2 to 5.5 inches 2K display, 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, USB Type-C Port, and it will run Windows 10. Along with Surface and Surface Pro devices, Microsoft could finally bring Surface Phone for their Windows lovers.
