Calculate Your GPA and Cumulative GPA

Use this calculator to estimate a term Grade Point Average (GPA) and a new cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) on a 4.00 scale. Add each course, enter its credit value and select the letter grade. Results update automatically as the information changes.

The current academic record is optional when you only need a term GPA. To calculate a new cumulative GPA, enter both your existing CGPA and the number of credits you have already earned. The calculator combines those quality points with the graded courses entered for this term.

Grades, Credits and Withdrawals

Credit-bearing grades are weighted by their course credits. For example, a four-credit course affects the result more than a one-credit course. Grades marked W or WP are excluded from graded-credit calculations, while WF is treated as a failing grade on this calculator’s scale.

You can begin with the five available rows, remove rows you do not need or add up to twenty courses. Course names are optional and are provided only to help organize the calculation.

Plan for a Target Cumulative GPA

The target planner estimates the average GPA required over a specified number of upcoming credits. Enter your current CGPA, credits already earned, upcoming credits and desired cumulative GPA. If the required result exceeds 4.00, the calculator explains that the target cannot be reached within the entered number of credits.

This tool provides an estimate based on a standard 4.00 scale. Grade policies, repeated courses, plus/minus values and withdrawal rules vary between institutions, so confirm important academic decisions with your school’s official policy or academic adviser.
