Mi Team has been testing MIUI 9 for 2 weeks and now they are ready to distribute the MIUI 9 OS among more users to test on different devices.

When will Xiaomi Release MIUI 9 Chinese and Global Developer ROM?

August 7, 2017 (Chinese Developer ROM Only)

Xiaomi has started recruiting some users to test the Chinese Developer ROM. The owner of these Xiaomi Smartphones can test;

Mi Note Pro, Mi Max 2, Mi MIX, Mi Max 32G, Mi Max 64G/128G, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, and Redmi 4X

Public Release Schedules

August 11, 2017 (Chinese and Global Developer ROM)

If you don’t get a chance to test in the first scheduled date (Aug 7), there is no need to worry. Xiaomi is releasing MIUI 9 Chinese and Global Developer ROM to the public on August 11, 2017. So everyone will get the opportunity. However, this opportunity will be limited to these models only;

• Redmi Note 4X Snapdragon Chipset Version Only
• Xiaomi Mi 6
• Xiaomi Mi 5X

August 25, 2017 (Chinese Developer ROM)

Mi Note Pro, Mi Max 2, Mi MIX, Mi Max 32G, Mi Max 64G/128G, Mi Note 2, Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, Mi 5c, Mi 4S, Mi 4c, and Redmi 4X

Late September 2017 (Chinese Developer ROM)

Xiaomi has not told anything about the models but promised to release the update for more models in the late September 2017.

Xiaomi has also told on its official forum that the list of devices may be updated. There might be the difference in the features between Chinese and Global Developer ROM, but that’s for the time being only. The final release will patch all the differences.
