One of the best and leading phone manufacturers today are Samsung, and they have excellent models like the Galaxy series. Out of the Galaxy series, the most used models are Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge+. Since a lot of people want to buy these, we will do a comparison on both phones to help you decide on what to get:
- Price
The first and most important factor people look for is the price. This is a high-end phone that has a lot of features and capabilities and it’s expected to have a higher price than the low-end phones. Different stores and carriers sell the phones by different prices. Without a data plan, a middle point price for Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is $570 and $770 respectively. You can get them by a lower price if you get a locked phone through a plan from a carrier, paying something around the $30 a month price range. You can then ask if you are eligible to unlock your phone by your network and pay a termination fee. Another way to unlock your Samsung Galaxy phone would be through an online service like SafeUnlockCode. Overall, the price is cheaper if you buy it with a plan and then unlock your phone rather than buying an unlocked phone without any plans from carriers.
- Design
Both models have a beautiful and slick design with some minor differences. They have a powerful and capable Gorilla Glass 4 build that can withstand sudden shocks and is immune to unwanted scratches. The Galaxy S6 edge+ is a bit bigger in size, having 11mm more length, 5.3mm more width and just a 0.1mm more depth. But having a bigger size since means weighting more. Unfortunately, the S6 edge+ has 15 more grams then the S6. Both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ have Super AMOLED touch screen displays with 16m colors. The edge+ model has a 0.6-inch bigger screen compared to 5.1-inch screen in Galaxy S6. So the smaller display gives Galaxy S6 more pixel density.
- Hardware
All of the Galaxy model series have high-tech and durable hardware components, which is one of the leading reasons why people love Samsung. The Galaxy S6 edge+ model has 1GB more RAM then the S6 which has only 3GB RAM. But, the Galaxy S6 edge+ model doesn’t have an option for a 128GB internal storage, and the S6 model does have an option for 128 GB internal storage. The highest internal storage you can get with Galaxy S6 edge+ is 64GB.
Both phones have the same CPU, GPU, chipset and the same 16MP camera.
Galaxy S6 edge+ has a more durable and powerful battery, a Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery, and the Galaxy S6 model has a Li-Ion 2550 mAh battery.
Although from the same manufacturer and mostly the same features, both phones have their positive and negative sides. With this comparison we hope you’ll have an easier time deciding on what model of Samsung Galaxy to get.
