Sony has made official announcement for its Z5 family devices : Xperia Z5, Z5 compact and Z5 Premium. Xperia Z5 and Z5 compact would hit the stores in October, and Z5 Premium would be launched in November.
Xperia fans won’t be much happy to know the tech specs. All the Xperia Z5 series devices features the same Chipset already found in Xperia Z3+, Snapdragon 810. Sony also had trouble with the heating issue created by Snapdragon 810, and again brought the same SoC. Users were curious to see a new faster chip and 4GB RAM, but RAM also remained the same 3GB.
Those who are already using Xperia Z3+ has no reason upgrading to Xperia Z5. The only new thing is the Finger Print Sensor and slightly better camera. However, the best among all is the Xperia Z5 premium. This is the world’s first smartphone to feature 4K resolution.
Finger Print Sensor has been located at the side. See the below image
If we compare Sony Xperia Z5 VS Z5 Compact VS Z5 Premium, the only major difference is the display size and resolution. Sony should have added FHD resolution to Xperia Z5 compact and 2K resolution to Xperia Z5. Sony is not ready to learn from current smartphone market trend, and it makes the company lose profit each and every year.
All three smartphones support Nano SIM card, and there would be one more Dual SIM version of Xperia Z5, known as Xperia Z5 Dual. In Terms of Design, Xperia Z5 Compact is the thickest phone with 8.3 mm thickness. Xperia Z5 is the slimmest one in its family with 7.3 mm thickness, followed by Xperia Z5 Premium with 7.8 mm thickness.
Sony has taken good care of battery while making the device. Xperia Z5 Premium has a huge 3430 mAh batter, Xperia Z5 features 2900 mAh followed by Xperia Z5 compact 2700 mAh. So, you don’t need to charge the device more than once a day. Along with 32GB internal storage, sony also left the option to expand it with MicroSD card slot, up to 200GB.
All four models are WaterProof and DustProof, IP65 and IP68 certified. However, you need to make sure all ports are firmly closed when you get caught in rain or having shower.
