Xiaomi Mi 5 has been rumored to feature either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 or Mediatek Helio X20, but these all were being said without any proof, but Xiaomi Mi 5 benchmark score made a couple of things clear that we will talk about. An analytics also said that Xiaomi Mi 5 launch depends of Snapdragon 820 arrival, so it could be launch by the end of this year or in early 2016. We also posted an article earlier with a suspected leaked image of Mi 5, but this leaked image makes us believe that Xiaomi Mi 5 would not feature any Finger Print Sensor. In September, Xiaomi Mi 5 Antutu benchmark score got leaked that scored over 73,000.
A Xiaomi Smartphone with “Gemini” Code name has been tested on Geekbench 3 on 12 November, and this model features Snapdragon 820 (MSM8996) SoC and 3GB RAM. Xiaomi Gemini should certainly be Mi 5. Snapdragon 820 is a quad-core processor that can reach the clocked speed of 2.2 GHz, but its has been clocked at 1.59 GHz in case of Mi 5. It seems Qualcomm has decrease the clock speed to handle the heat issue and optimize the CPU to perform better. The device is running Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS, this is the first time Xiaomi smartphone showed up with Android 6.0.
Xiaomi Mi 5 Benchmark Score (GeekBench 3)
Xiaomi Mi 5 benchmark score shows a great improvement compared to its predecessor, specially in single-core performance, thanks to Snapdragon 820. It scored 2162 in single-core performance and 5116 in muli-core performance.
Xiaomi Mi 5 was rumored to feature 4GB RAM, but it seems it would still feature 3GB RAM like Mi 4. In terms of storage capacity, we expect Mi 5 to have 32GB/64GB storage option. Xiaomi could skip 16GB option this time for its high-end smartphone. It may feature a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS and 8-megapixel front shooter. RAM is not everything to perform any smartphone well, it also depends on chipset and the optimization of the system. Xiaomi Mi 5 benchmark score makes us believe that it is going to perform much better compared to its predecessor.
